Prince of Wales Island Craig, Alaska
We still have some prime dates available on one boat...  See below for dates.
For the 2013 season we have a lot of exciting news. First of all, we have some updates regarding lodging, the new boat and Troy Thain''s new boat we added to the fleet.  The lodging news is that Shaan Seet has been busy working all winter and spring renovating the lodge and expanding their lodging options. Some of the changes you will notice when you arrive at the lodge are the new refrigerators and coffee makers in every room. Another upgrade is the bigger flat screen TV sets. Not that you have much time to watch TV when you are resting from a day of reeling up each day’s catch and sharing stories with other anglers.  In addition to the room upgrades, you will notice that some of the trees on the waterside have been trimmed down to allow a better view of the bay. There are still enough trees for the resident eagles to wait our daily afternoon return and give us an aerial show.

Another change you will notice upon your arrival are the two new cabins being built on the waterfront side of the trail leading down to the boats. We are hoping they will be done by this summer, so our guests get a chance to see them and consider them as an option for next summer.

For 2013, we still have the fol
lowing prime dates available:

June 1-10th:  Great for king salmon and all bottom fish.
July 3-8th, 29-31st: Excellent for trophy king salmon and silver salmon.
August 1- 13th: The best time to get into schools of silver salmon.

Craig, Alaska 2012 Season

Prince of Wales Island Fishing Adventures from the 2012 Season!

Summer is officially over and we completed our last fishing trip on September 15th. First of all, before the season started I told myself I would post daily catch reports on the website blog. Needless to say, it never happened. Too busy catching fish, preparing for the next day, and trying to squeeze in a little sleep. So, I apologize for not keeping everyone up to date on our daily kills and releases.  I would like to thank everyone who was able to join me this summer. It is always a pleasure to fish with those who have returned to join me in my 7 years of guiding (and 2 years at Tranquil Charters).

Now on with the fishing! Overall, this year was another outstanding season.  Although we had a few slow early-June king salmon days we did get into some great halibut, lingcod, yelloweye and black sea bass fishing grounds. I was also able to get some great action pictures and videos that I will be adding to the website in the next few months.

Here are a few pictures to summarize the summer and to get you started thinking about locking in your dates for the 2013 season. I have already begun taking reservations and it won't be long before the peak dates are filled. I am also planning to attend the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen's Show in Portland, Oregon during the week of February 6-10th, 2013.

Here is a link to a video put together by Jeff Lund, from one day of fishing. Thank you, Jeff. (His father was my high school band teacher): YouTube Fishing Video
